What will the expansion of "Agroexpress" give to Uzbekistan?

Agroexpress is a special project of JSC "Russian Railways Logistics" with the participation of JSC "Russian Export Center" (REC) for the delivery of agricultural goods to China, Uzbekistan and CIS countries using fast container railway trains.

If Kyrgyzstan starts sending its own goods to the Russian Federation through Fergana and Tashkent, it is possible to reduce the cost of certain food products, Narodnoye Slovo reports.

In this case, the food train can give new financial benefits to Uzbekistan in connection with the expansion of the network of railway routes. Now the Kyrgyz authorities are working on his entry into this project. Because of the new member, the directorate of Agroexpress is working out two road supply chains, and one of them runs through the cities of Uzbekistan: Osh – Fergana – Tashkent – Moscow.

“The sooner the better”

Taking into account the fact that Agroexpress affects the space of the entire Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the new route will facilitate faster and better delivery of perishable products from Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation, Belarus and Kazakhstan. This is the opinion of Ravshan Nazarov, associate Professor of the Tashkent branch of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics.

At the same time, the Republic of Uzbekistan will also receive dairy and meat food more quickly than usual, the associate professor says. And express delivery has a serious impact on the price of products. "Reducing delivery time and reducing storage costs will make goods more accessible to consumers," - associate Professor Nazarov emphasizes.

Among other things, it is necessary to pay attention to the aspect of documentation. The Agroexpress project should fully regulate and facilitate issues related to crossing customs and borders. "The agreement on Agroexpress provides for the principle of a "green corridor" during customs procedures, as it is aimed at transporting, first of all, perishable products," - says Ravshan Nazarov.

"A contract is more expensive than money"

Everything that Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan previously agreed on under the Agroexpress project will be relevant in 2022. Kyrgyzstan's entry into the Agroexpress project will create additional transportation, Uzbekistan Temir Yullari reports. If the train is complete, it will give him the opportunity to cross the territory of Uzbekistan without unnecessary stops. Otherwise, the train will have to stop to join the missing freight cars.

Earlier we wrote about the agreement between Russia and Uzbekistan on the "Agroexpress" project.
