According to the news agency "Dunyo"the parties discussed the possibility of implementing joint projects in the pomegranate production sector.
During the conversation, Naig Mamedgasanov, referring to the results of his own scientific and marketing research, stressed that Uzbekistan has a great potential in the production of pomegranate, which is in great demand on the world market. He confirmed his statements by the fact that pomegranate can be widely used in the production of food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic products.
Welcoming the efforts of the Government of Uzbekistan to develop pomegranate farming, the Azerbaijani side confirmed its readiness to participate in this process. Within the framework of this activity, the General director of "Tovuz-Baltiya" positively reacted to the proposal of the Uzbek side to join the implementation of a project in the Syrdarya region providing for the cultivation of the best Azerbaijani pomegranate varieties, as well as in the export of products to foreign markets.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on organizing a visit of the head of the "Tovuz-Baltiya" company to the Syrdarya region to discuss practical issues of cooperation in the field of pomegranate farming.
