Export revenue from table grapes decreased.

From the beginning of July to the end of September 2021, the volume of exports of table grapes from Uzbekistan in physical terms increased by 45% compared to the same period last year. Despite such a solid increase in shipments, the amount of export revenue for this position decreased by 3%, analysts say.According to the Customs Committee of the Republic, from the beginning of July to the end of September 2021, Uzbekistan exported 111.1 thousand tons of table grapes worth $73.9 million, while in the same period last year, the volume of exports of these products amounted to 76.6 thousand. tons worth $76.3 million.

Accordingly, the prices of shipment of Uzbek table grapes to foreign markets this year are significantly lower - by about 30-35% than in the same period in 2020, which led to a decrease in export revenue even with such a significant increase in export volumes in physical terms.

The export season of table grapes from Uzbekistan starts in July. At the height of the season, the supply of Uzbek table grapes on the Russian market significantly exceeded the demand. This exerted price pressure on the main foreign market for these products, despite the fact that as of the beginning of September, prices for Uzbek grapes were already 20-30% lower compared to prices in the same period last year. Export statistics confirmed this.

As for the geography of exports of Uzbek table grapes, according to analysts, 95-99% of these products were delivered to the markets of three countries - Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. At the same time, about 50% of exports are accounted for by Russia, 35-40% by Kazakhstan and 10-15% by Kyrgyzstan. In addition, a little more than 500 tons of Uzbek table grapes were shipped to Ukraine, 350 tons to Belarus and single batches of up to 20 tons to Latvia and Mongolia.
