A new variety of tomatoes from Italian breeders.

As a result of the four-year work of the branch of the research company Top Seeds International in Italy, a new tomato variety "Fanello" was bred. Breeders concentrated the best quality and high yield in it.

"The plum tomatoes market is strongly taste-oriented, and Fanello fully satisfies this need, in fact even raising the bar, since the new variety has a high sweetness index on the Brics scale (up to 11 °)," - said Fabrizio Iurato, developer and sales representative of Top Seeds International.

Fanello tomatoes are bright red in color, the fruits are firmly attached to the stem, which helps to preserve their freshness and presentation. From the point of view of cultivation, Fanello is universal, it can be planted from September to the end of May, and harvesting takes place from November to August. After the trials in Sicily, which took place in February and March 2021, tomatoes began to be grown in the central part of Italy.

The tomatoes were named after the Fanello region (Vittoria commune, Sicily region), where the fruit and vegetable market is located.

"We want this name to glorify Sicily and the region where the tomato originated, which will later help promote it on the international market," - added Rosario Privitera, regional manager of Top Seeds International in Central and Southern Italy.
